New cars come with many options that essentially make them four-wheel computers. However, all this pile of iron with cruise control, airbags and other parking sensors is completely useless if the car often breaks down.
To find out which cars deserve the title of “most reliable in the world”, iSeeCars analyzed data on about 13.5 million cars produced between 1981 and 2017. And published a list of the top ten cars, whose mileage was over 320 thousand kilometers.
It turned out that if you are looking for a reliable and durable car, it is best to turn your attention to SUVs - both the most anticipated new products and long-standing models on the market.
- Toyota Sequoia is the most durable vehicle in the “off-road group”. Experts found that 6.6% of cars of this brand have a mileage of over 320 thousand km.
- Full-size SUVs Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Suburban are also among the three most enduring cars of 2018. Among “Fords”, 5.4 percent of cars were able to drive 320 thousand km, while 5.2 percent of cars have overcome this bar for Chevrolet models.
- The fourth and fifth lines of the list are occupied by Toyota 4Runner (4.2%) and GMC Yukon XL with 3.9% of cars that have traveled 320 thousand km.
- The rest of the list includes Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Avalon and Honda Odyssey.

ISeeCars experts noted that most of the models that entered the top 10 most enduring cars are four-wheel drive all-wheel drive SUVs. Therefore, they are distinguished by a long service life and high carrying capacity, similar to trucks.
“These vehicles are also easier to repair than smaller SUVs, which can contribute to their longevity,” said iSeeCars.com CEO Fong Lee.
If you are not interested in an SUV or a pickup truck, iSeeCars has also published a list of sedans and family cars of the “minivan” class, which can last up to the mark of 320 thousand km.
